Before copiers, i used tracing paper and either rubber cement or 3m-77. if you aren't sure the copier you're using prints at 1:1 scale, match it to parts or copy a pair of rulers. for my own plans, i print out extra copies of templates and use a glue stick to hold the paper to the wood.. The way i did it, i used the tracing paper doubled up, back to back. then as i drew my parts, i got lines on my wood parts, and the back of the plans at the same time, then just flip over the plans for the mirror image.. Tape the tracing paper shapes to pieces of poster board. cut the shapes out about 1/2 in. but don't cover the pencil lines with tape. use a center punch to transfer the hole locations to the poster board..
